Water Lily Pond

As a founder of French impressionism paintings, Claude Monet was a very unique individual who rejected the common approach to landscape painting. Monet learned from nature itself, by watching the different changes in nature, such as the constant shift in color and light during the transition into different seasons.

In 1883 Monet moved to Giverny where he lived until he died in 1926. It was here where he began the creation of his famous garden, as portrayed in a series of 10 canvases that he composed. The one above known as the “Water Lily Pond” was one of his most beautiful pieces of work.

The “Water Lily Pond” was a simple design, but captured the essence of what Claude Monet was all about, the changing of the seasons. As made visible in this alluring composition, the vibrant green frondescence puts forth an early summers day vibe. Capturing the familiar beauty that nature brings forth.

The amazing beauty that Monet captured in his own garden is unbelievable, but having the ability to transfer the raw beauty of nature into multiple canvases, just shows how truly talented this French impressionist was. Although his paintings were indeed fantastic, people of today can now go to his garden and view his artistic creation first hand. Not only being able to view Claude Monet’s real masterpiece but also his inspiration.
